Research Abstract
Cognitive functions, such as memory and language, appear not to be localized in one specific location in the brain, but rather in networks between a multitude of brain cells. Functional connections between brain regions are increasingly understood to be essential for cognitive functions.
In this study, we investigate changes in brain network connectivity in dementia (Alzheimer?s disease and frontotemporal lobar degeneration), autism, schizophrenia and depression. We will compare MRI scans of these patients with healthy controls.
