Lay summary
Evaluation of the capability of potential biomarkers to deliver a right diagnosis of the motor neuron disease (MND) and their use as potential therapeutic targets. Particularly, a biomarker either in patients and in animal models, cyclophillin A, seems to be involved in the process that leads to death of the motor neuron. Further studies on this field could bring to the development of new and effective therapeutic approaches.
