The centre will develop two main programmes to address the relationship between the healthy ageing brain and the healthy ageing body. The first programme will build on existing research strengths in age-associated neuronal loss and dysfunction, neurodegeneration and vascular disease and the second will extend current research on exercise, mobility, nutrition and other lifestyles factors that can influence vitality. By focusing on vitality, the centre will empathise the vast potential to deliver major benefits to patients and the general public.
