Original aim was to examine the relationship between diet and the subsequent cancer risk, but was extended to include particularly cardiovascular diseases and diabetes and their risk factors
It is one of the largest prospective cohorts in Sweden, only a few studies in the world have similar data on diet and nutrition. The diagnosis of dementia disorders and Parinsonian disorders has been validated through medical records.
