The proposed project aims to implement new diagnostic criteria and biomarkers in CJD into current practice leading to a more precise diagnosis of CJD at early stages. The project will enhance our knowledge about PrPc/PrPtse expression in blood and CSF of patients which is necessary for development of a specific diagnostic test. Obtained results will be published in impacted journal. An outstanding part is the verification of newly developed antibodies on relevant clinical material for improving diagnosis of human prion diseases. Anticipated results and impact: More precise early diagnosis of CJD. Identification of available and widely utilizable clinical biomarkers for diagnosis and prognostic factors in CJD. Verification of the validity of new WHO diagnostic criteria in Czech Republic settings. Development of a new clones of antibodies useable for diagnosis of human prion diseases.
